Karen also brings a distinctly international dimension to her practice. About Karen

Born and raised in Florida, Karen has spent her entire life in the Sunshine State. Inspired by Perry Mason, she announced to her family at just two years old that she would become a lawyer — and there was never a Plan B.

Karen earned her Juris Doctor with Honors from Florida State University College of Law in 1992, and has practiced law in Florida for more than three decades. She is known for her boutique-style practice, providing highly specialized, hands-on representation to multi-generational clients with a strong emphasis on personal attention and long-term relationships.

Shortly after opening her solo practice in 1992, Karen was retained as General Counsel for an innovative family-owned chemical company based in Sonoma County, California. She held that role for more than 20 years and continues to represent the company today. In that capacity, she litigated complex trade secret, contract, licensing, fraud, and commercial disputes throughout the United States in both state and federal courts.

Over the course of her career, Karen has represented a broad spectrum of businesses, as well as physicians, attorneys, and other professionals in matters involving partnership agreements, business disputes, and complex commercial issues. She also handles family immigration matters. Karen is highly skilled in mediation and arbitration and has successfully litigated complex cases in multi-state venues.

Karen joined the Rayboun Winegardner team as Of Counsel in January 2025.
