Michael was raised in Tallahassee, graduated from Leon High in 1991, and went on to Florida State, where he earned his B.A. in 1995.  For law school, Michael chose Wake Forest University, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  At Wake, Michael earned top honors in his trial advocacy training, being recognized as the Most Outstanding Trial Advocate in his final year there. After practicing in Pensacola, he returned to Tallahassee and soon after launched his own firm, focusing on real estate and business issues, including both transactional and litigation matters.

For more than 25 years, Michael has helped Florida businesses, property owners, lenders, and entrepreneurs navigate the legal challenges that arise when real estate, business, and financial interests intersect. Licensed to practice law in Florida since 1998, Michael brings a practical, business-minded approach to every matter, focusing not only on what the law allows, but on what makes the most sense for his clients.


Much of Michael’s practice centers on real estate transactions, where he guides buyers, sellers, developers, investors, and lenders through acquisitions, sales, financing, leasing, and complex commercial deals. His substantial experience representing banks and financial institutions gives him a unique perspective on the lending side of transactions, allowing him to anticipate issues, manage risk, and help clients move deals efficiently from contract to closing.


Michael also serves as trusted outside counsel to businesses of all sizes. Whether advising a startup on its formation, helping an established company negotiate key contracts, or providing strategic guidance for day-to-day operations, he works closely with business owners to protect their interests and position them for long-term success.


When disputes arise, Michael is an experienced advocate in the courtroom. He represents clients in business, contract, and real estate litigation, approaching each case with a clear understanding that litigation is not just about winning legal arguments.
