Words cannot convey the loss we are feeling at our firm and as members of the Tallahassee legal community.  

 

Many years ago, at the end of a week-long federal jury trial, and in response to a remark questioning his motivations, this is what Mr. Turner told the jury:

I'm proud to be a lawyer. I've been a lawyer for 50 years and I'm proud of it. And being from Tallahassee doesn't make me any better or worse than any other lawyer. I think I've been a good lawyer, and I've done a good job for my clients, and I represent my clients as honorably as I can.

Mr. Turner was an AV Preeminent®-rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell, recognized for his appellate practice, and was continuously selected as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” and as a “Florida Super Lawyer” for his experience in appellate law, business litigation, and government law. He has also been named among Florida Trend magazine’s “Legal Elite.”

Mr. Turner taught for many years as an adjunct professor at Florida State University’s School of Law, and presented the annual award to the most outstanding appellate advocate in the school’s Moot Court competition.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Turner previously served as a federal district court law clerk, an Air Force JAG officer, a special assistant Florida Attorney General and a state agency general counsel. While in law school, he served as an editor of the University of Florida Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif.
